FAIRY FASTING CENTER

To portray Ji-soo, a character who grew up overly sheltered by her father Bong-seok's excessive love, yet struggles with self-acceptance, I used soft pastel tones in her space, props, and costumes, deliberately avoiding bold colors. In contrast, the Fairy Fasting Center symbolizes Ji-soo’s first step towards transformation, an unknown world where she begins to experience "love" and personal growth. To emphasize the fantasy-like and fairy-tale atmosphere of this space, I focused on using shades of pink and purple to evoke a sense of mystery and wonder.

The setting of Gongju Hanok Village played a crucial role in defining the unique nature of this women-only fasting center, inspiring much of the spatial and prop design. While maintaining the traditional beauty of the hanok, I aimed to highlight the vibrant personalities of the characters and the surreal events within the center. To achieve this, I repeatedly used exaggerated colors like mint and pink, which not only complemented the traditional aesthetics but also accentuated the playful yet profound essence of the Fairy Fasting Center. Additionally, the design of the fasting center uniforms was vital in establishing the visual concept. I personally selected modernized hanbok outfits in mint, blending contemporary style with traditional elegance, while carefully considering both color and functionality.
